Record Number of Singers Participated in the Võrumaa Community Singing Day

In mid-June at the Navi Community Center, the 11th Võrumaa Community Singing Day saw a record 110 community singing enthusiasts coming together to sing a mix of well-known and lesser-known songs.

Community singing is accompanied by music and dance. At the event on June 15, led by Toomas Ojasaar, Igor Bogdanov, and the Võrumaa Accordion Club, there were enjoyable dancing numbers presented by various self-made Võrumaa groups and guest performers: the Navi female choir, the Võru Pensioners' Day Center community singing group, the youth dance group Hõbevalge, the Lasva Folk House elderly dance group Tatsujad, the dance group Ei me ette tea from Järva-Jaani, community singers from Põlva,  the Haanja community song and dance group Rüarääk. Among the participants was also the youth dance group Ummamuudu. Additionally, the Lasva theater troupe presented the participants with the play "Pensioners at Work" during the community singing day.

The Võrumaa Community Singing Day was organized in collaboration between Navi Village Association and the Võru Municipality's Culture and Youth Center.
