Sports Coordinator Shared Experiences of Community Physical Activities at Movement Conference
On October 8-9, a movement conference 'Kääriku Kärajad - For a Healthy Estonia!' took place at the Kääriku Sports Center in Valgamaa, focusing on Estonian identity, promoting physical activity, and the role of local governments in designing public spaces that encourage movement. The seminar was attended by Asko Saarepuu, the sports coordinator of Võru Municipality.
According to Saarepuu, the movement conference was an inspiring and energizing experience. 'It was exciting to be in the role of a speaker again - last year I participated in a panel, but this year I took the stage with my presentation. It was great to see that our community physical activities and initiatives have been noticed beyond the municipality,' he recounted.
Our sports coordinator had the opportunity to interact with movement promoters from different parts of Estonia, exchange ideas, practices, and learn from each other.
The invitation for our sports coordinator to present on sports topics at the seminar is a recognition that we are on the right track with our activities and are moving towards a livelier and more movement-rich Võru Municipality.
