Võru-Väimela Road Race Brought Together 759 Sports Enthusiasts

On May 22nd, the third stage of the Võrumaa Sports Federation's running and walking series took place - the 44th edition of the Võru-Väimela road race and walk. There were a total of 759 participants in various age and competition categories. The race was won by Võru municipality's own sportsman, Raido Ränkel.

The start was traditionally given from the center of Võru, where the participants headed along the cycle path past the Võru municipal building to the beautiful courtyard of Väimela Ewers School, where the finish line awaited.

Võru municipality was actively involved in both the organization and participation. Municipal employees contributed to traffic management, and youth workers along with young people provided refreshments at the drinking point, which was organized in collaboration with the Võru Cultural Center and Youth Work Center.
